Titlayo Orebiyi & Adebayo Akinade appointed Chair and Vice-Chair of BOSCON

Mrs. Titilayo Elizabeth Orebiyi, SCN has been appointed as the Chairperson of the Body of Senior Counsel of Nigeria (BOSCON) for the 2026/2027 Legal year. 

Following the meeting of the Governing Council of BOSCON that held on Friday 10th July 2026, confirmed the appointment.

She would preside over the screening of candidates for conferement of the Blue Silks rank of Senior Counsel of Nigeria-SCN.

Mrs. Titilayo Elizabeth Orebiyi, SCN was herself conferred with the Blue Silks rank of Senior Counsel of Nigeria-SCN in April 2026 based on successful screening and verification of her over 35 non-litigation transactions in the field of real estate and property law.
Similarly, Mr. Adebayo Akinade, SCN has also been confirmed as the Vice-Chairman of the Body of Senior Counsel of Nigeria (BOSCON).

He was conferred with the Blue Silks rank of Senior Counsel of Nigeria-SCN at the last investiture ceremony after he successfully screened and satisfied the requirements of 35 verifiable non-litigation publications of law books as a Senior Legal Academic-SLA and former Legal Adviser of the University of Lagos.

The Body of Senior Counsel of Nigeria (BOSCON) which received its certificate of registration dated 30th December 2025 is the legal entity that screens candidates who are members of the Nigerian Law Society-NLS for the Blue Silks rank of Senior Counsel of Nigeria-SCN. 

The Blue Silks is a rank of legal excellence for non-litigation Nigerian lawyers who have held a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree for a minimum of ten years in addition to a minimum of 35 verifiable non-litigation transactions in any area of law other than Courtroom litigation.

The Blue Silks rank has three categories namely:

1. Senior Legislative Counsel of Nigeria (SELCON);
2. Senior Legal Academic (SLA) and 
3. Senior Corporate Counsel-SCC.
