University of Ibadan Law Students Reunion of 88 Set: Byron, Akintayo, Bamgboye others To Support Continous Development of Law Faculty

Reconnecting with old school mates after 36 years comes with a lot of nostalgia and rekindling of wonderful memories.   It reminds one of the hurly-burly of lectures, assignments and all the melange of campus activities that moulds the graduating student who eventually becomes an alumni of the school.

On Saturday, the 7th of December, 2024, the University of Ibadan, faculty of Law students of the 88 set chose to reunite after 36 long years to give back to their alma mater.   

The current Dean of the faculty, Prof. John Oluwole Akintayo is also a member of the 88 set and he analysed the evolution of the faculty.  He also highlighted the fact that the current location of the faculty will be relocated to the Ajibode facility which has more space for the faculty.

Also, the chairperson of the alumni, Mrs. Oche Vivian applauded the fact that after 36 years of graduating from the University, a member of their set is the Dean of faculty. According to her "This goes to show how continuity is important."

Dr. Sina Fagbenro-Byron, the former Presidential candidate of Kowa Party during the 2019 Presidential elections is also a member of the 88 set of the law faculty.

Some members could not attend due to distance or engagement with other activities.

The schedule of events for the reunion included a tour of the university, hobnobbing session with current students and rounded off with a gala night.
