COAS On Operational Tour: Commissions Projects In Lagos

The Chief of Army Staff ( COAS) Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya has concluded a 2-day operational assessment visit to Army formations in Lagos where he commissioned the Nigerian Army Education Corps ( NAEC) Commander House, Headquarters NAEC Annex Building, NAEC Hall of Fame, and inspected other ongoing projects.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the COAS stated that the newly constructed House for the NAEC Commander was part of an effort to improve the infrastructural legacy of the Nigerian Army (NA) as the house hitherto occupied by the Commander was not befitting him. 
He said the new house has been furnished and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to provide a conducive and enabling comfort for the Commander to enhance productivity. The COAS also commissioned the NAEC Hall of Fame which contained the repertoire of the Nigerian Army Family Tree, Chronicle of Command, and the portrait of Former COAS and Corps Commanders of NAEC among other documented history of the NA
General Yahaya commended the Commander NAEC Major General Mohammed Augie for the successful completion of the projects, describing it as a vital value addition to his vision to bequeath an enduring legacy for the Army.  The Army Chief urged personnel of NAEC to remain committed and selfless in the course of discharging their duties, as their welfare will continue to receive utmost attention under his command.
In a similar vein, the COAS inspected ongoing Nigerian Army Officers Wives Association (NAOWA) projects in Ojo Cantonment. The project includes a block of six classrooms, an Information and Communication Technology Laboratory, and a 500-seater Assembly Hall at the NAOWA
Model Nursery and Primary School Ojo Cantonment which is near completion.
