Ondo Black Sunday: Yoruba Koya spits fire.... Calls on government, churches, mosques to wake up to security challenges

The pan-Yoruba sociocultural NGO, Yoruba KoYa Leadership and Training Foundation (YKLTF), condemn the dastardly massacre of over fifty (50) men, women and children of Yoruba people by heinous gang suspected to be bandits and or terrorists who are striving hard to make Yorubaland a land of terror, hunger and strife.
The gory scenes at St. Francis Catholic church, Owo, Ondo State, on Sunday the 5th of June, 2022 are very traumatizing.

Coincidentally it occurred exactly one year after a similar inhumane action occurred at Igangan, Oyo, State.

It is evidently clear that security measures by Southwest governors, traditional rulers and local vigilantes need proper overhauling and our first step is to organise our own neighbourhood security and surveillance units.
Yoruba Koya will counsel on the need to be vigilant because it has become everyone's duty to be attentive to strange movements within our vicinities and inform the right quarters on time.

Yoruba Koya commiserates with families of those who lost their lives untimely to the cold hands of death in this manner.
Yoruba Koya implores all that new security measures be adopted in churches, Mosques and other strategic public locations via the installation of CCTVs and other security and surveillance equipments.

Yoruba KoYa calls on states and local government within the southwest to adopt a holistic technological approach  to surveilance and deploy more vigilantes to assist security operatives  in maintaining law and order .
YKLTF believes in her earlier support for Legislative/Local Government Financial and Administrative Autonomy and Establishment of respective State Security Council as contained in the new Constitution Amendment of 44 clauses already passed by the National Assembly (NASS), which are now in the second reading stages in all the States Houses of Assembly.

This on final passage and signing into law, will surely improve and shorten the response time as counter operation on insurgency, terrorism and violent clashes as security breaches in our local government communities, from the reformed joint security operatives on ground via Police, Amotekun, OPC etc.
We  sincerely condole with the peace-loving people of the ancient Owo  town and the entire Yoruba Nation.

Yoruba Koya states clearly to the entire Yoruba people that Yoruba lives matter and Yoruba Koya will  continue to strive and do her best to liberate and empower the people of Yorubaland.
We encourage our people not to give up hope but  reorganize strategically to defend our land.

We must unite to conquer our enemies.
