We were ignored on security alarm raised since 2019 ... Yoruba Koya wants SW governors to be more proactive with security

The foremost pan Yoruba, non-partisan sociocultural NGO, Yoruba Koya Leadership and Training Foundation, YKLTF, has reiterated its call on southwest leaders to take the issue of insecurity very seriously.

While drawing its recall from a newspaper excerpt of page 19 of  the Tribune Newspaper of Friday, 26th April, 2019, 'Deyoruwa: Ogun Community now a ghost town after herdsmen sacked 200 farmers, destroyed buildings.  Yoruba Koya asks for help to rebuild Community', the organization, through its director of Media and publicity, Amb. Demola SANYAOLU, says "the kid-glove approach in tackling the ravaging insecurity challenge is unacceptable.  The NGO also draws its observation from robbery incidents in the same area as well as the Lagos-Ibadan expressway siege which may become gory scenes similar to the Abuja-Kaduna highway if proper measures are not put in place.

YKLTF implores both public officials and local security outfits to get down to brass tacks and deal with the insecurity issue headlong until the menace phased out.

According to the foundation's president, Otunba Deji Osibogun, "we do not want a replica of the scenario in the Northern parts of the country replayed in the Southwest.  All hands must be on deck to nip the issue in its bud before it sprouts beyond pruning."

The newspaper report painted in graphical details the incident of herdsmen mayhem in an Ogun community which turned the place to a ghost town.

Yoruba Koya has been at the forefront of ensuring that agriculture thrives as well as marketing of agricultural produce to boost the economy of the southwestern region of Nigeria.  You can get details of all projects that YKLTF is involved in on the official website of the organization www.yorubakoyafoundation.org.
