Yoruba Ko'Ya commends southern governors for banning open grazing and calling for national conference

The pan-Yoruba, socio-cultural and non-partisan foundation, the Yorùbá Ko'Ya Leadership and Training Foundation, has praised the conference of Southern Governors for speaking truth to power and speaking up as statesmen against the current security and socio political crisis in the country.

In a press statement through the Foundation's Acting Director of Media and Publicity, Demola Sanyaolu,  the Foundation applauded  the Governors for at last breaking their deafening silence, and taking the bold and courageous step to finally speak out  especially on the complete ban of open grazing in all Southern States and the   call for 'Restructuring of Nigeria' into a true Federation.

Yoruba Ko'Ya gave thumbs up to the Governors for making a specific call for national dialogue.

Yorùbá Ko'Ya, while expressing relief that the Southern Governors finally found their voices, urged the Middle Belt Governors, North East and North West to follow suit by abandoning doublespeak and platitudes.

Yorùbá Ko'Ya believes that if this unique move of the Southern governors had come earlier, perhaps many sons and daughters of Nigeria now forever lost, particularly in Yorubaland might have been alive today.

YKLTF, reiterating that it is  "better late than never", welcomes the new path being charted by the Southern Governors in unison and urges all patriotic and peace-loving Nigerians to speak up before Nigeria descends into total anarchy.

Yorùbá Ko'Ya also implores both traditional and social media to support and strengthen 'this born-again declaration' of the Southern Governors, which is  geared towards achieving a new dawn of peace, justice and equity for the rebirth and collective progress  of the Nation.

YKLTF urges more  leaders (elected and appointed), non-politicians, businessmen, industrialists, professionals, religious leaders, societies, unions, associations, traditional rulers  and communities to follow suit in the most peaceful and nonviolent manner.

Yorùbá Ko'Ya will itself continue to advocate for a just,  equitable and peaceful federation which would evolve into  Autonomous Regional Governance, a federation governed by a new and true  Constitution drafted and enacted by "we the people" and ratified by a popular and legitimate  referendum.
