Jokotola Pelumi: "Losing two dear people in one fell swoop can be devastating"... Will he accept 'pepperito's' shoes?

He suddenly decided to keep a low profile after his tenure as the speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly (2003-2007) and as a member of the house of assembly  during the second term of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Despite being an  active politician, operating in stealth mode is his forte and he would not go public except when ultimately necessary.

Barrister Jokotola Pelumi was still mourning the demise of his colleague and friend, senator Osinwo, when another rude shock of his mother's exit to afterlife, hit him square.

An excerpt from his tribute to the late senator reads "Pepe you came, you saw, you conquered... You were a great problem solver, a peacemaker and a great party man who knows the importance of teamwork and power of the people."

Rt. Hon. Jokotola Pelumi started receiving condolence visits and messages over his mother's demise while still mourning his friend.

Jokotola's mother, madam Selinah Atinuke Adeola Pelumi, prior to her demise on Tuesday, 16th June, lived a fulfilled life and was widely traveled. Her globetrotting around the world  ensured that her two children got the best of education.  Madam Atinuke Pelumi started her career as a registered nurse and later voluntarily retired in search of greener pastures.

After the demise of senator Bayo Osinowo, Rt. Hon. Jokotola Pelumi is one of those tipped as a likely replacement for the late senator.

According to an anonymous source, "rumours are rife at the corridors of the Lagos APC and the national headquarters of the party,  that former Lagos State Governor Akinwumi Ambode or former Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Jokotola Pelumi were top likely replacements for late Senator Bayo Osinowo, whom, before his demise, represented the Lagos East Senatorial District."

The source also hinted that Ambode is being tipped because of the apex body of the party’s decision to possibly compensate him for his eventual ‘kowtowing to constituted authority’ after his travails.

Barrister Jokotola Pelumi is also tipped because “since his unceremonious exit from the Lagos assembly, he remained ardently loyal to the leadership while also standing strongly in support of the ideals of the party to the letter”.

The questions remain "will Rt. Hon. Jokotola Pelumi accept the offer to continue projecting the ideals he shared with 'pepperito' before the latter's exit to afterlife or would he remain in his stealth mode?"

The days and events ahead will unfold these answers depending on the direction of the party's juggernauts.
