Innocent Chukwuma: Building on His Dreams; Advancing His Legacies

On Friday, April 12, 2024, CLEEN Foundation in collaboration with the Innocent Chukwuemeka Chukwuma Foundation, will commemorate the passing of Innocent Chukwuma, its founder with a memorial lecture in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

The theme of the lecture: ‘The Power of One: Dreams and Nightmares: Thoughts on Innocent Chukwuma’, will focus on honouring the legacy of their founder, which is the pursuit of social justice and the empowerment of the marginalised.

According to the foundation, “As we gather to commemorate his life and legacy, we reflect on the power of one individual to effect positive change and the enduring impact of his dreams and aspiration”.

The lecture will also deliberate on how Chukwuma made a difference, impacted his world and left an enduring legacy; and will be delivered by His Lordship, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, the Bishop of Sokoto Catholic Diocese.

Chukwuma, a renowned social justice crusader, human rights advocate, and one of the leading lights within civil society in Africa, who was described as “Africa’s leading expert on police and law enforcement reform”. His tireless efforts in the pursuit of good governance, gender equity was second to none.

He died on Saturday, April 3, 2021 of cancer
