Peter Obi - Understanding The President Nigerians Desire By Tai Emeka Obasi

Most people only watch HE Peter Obi on television. But as good as he is in communication, he hasn't been able to explain up to 50% of who he truly is.

Read through this one:

The man we also call Okwute, in addition to the N75 billion he left behind, also saved $156 million before leaving office but it wasn't just to tie resources down. He negotiated for a $120 million loan from World Bank. The aim was to use $40 million for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, STEM Education. While $80 million was to be used to tackle erosion throughout his state of Anambra.
World Bank sent professionals to study Obi's governance style,  and achievements, were impressed and approved the interest-loan. Besides, the $156 savings would have easily generated more than enough interests to pay back the loan on maturity in 2030.
This was happening in the last year of his eight years in office. Six months before he left office, $80 million ($40 million for education and $40 million erosion control) of the $120 million was ready to be drawn from the World Bank loan. But Okwute refused to draw from it.
He said since his government was finishing strong that he would also want that of his successor to start strong. That successive governments don't need to start from point zero. That he promised CONTINUITY to the people. That his successor should have the appropriate foundation to fulfill the promises made to the people. That it was all about public trust. That the people must be able to trust their leaders, whichever government is in charge.
He wasn't certain his choice would have succeeded him when he took the decision. The decision was taken in the interest of dear people of his state. If we had leaders who have been responsible enough to not only use people's money for the people but also prepared for successors to seamlessly toe same path, we would have been a great great nation.
Okwute is the only Nigerian I know that remained the same man he was before he became governor, retained the same lifestyle throughout his days in office and still retained same lifestyle over eight years after. He went into the system, changed it for the better and refused to be changed by the corrupt system.

He won't tell you that but this is a highly disciplined man whose middle name is Mr. Consistent. This is a man Nigeria must not miss the chance for him to become her president.
