NAFRC Graduates 329; "Be wary of post-service errors"- Vice Admiral Gambo Cautions

The Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), Oshodi, Lagos, on Friday March 20th, graduated a total of 329 personnel in its  01/2022 Stream  One Course. 
Vice Admiral Awwal Zubairu Gambo, the Chief Of Naval Staff (CNS) who was the Special Guest Of Honour at the event admonished the  graduands to beware of challenges common with post-service year.

The CNS stated that the level of insecurity had taken a new dimension therefore urged retired personnel to be wary of subversive elements within the environment and avoid associating with them. 

"So many challenges are associated with post-service life which include how you manage your resources especially your retirement benefits among others.
"Also, influence from members of your family and friends, management of your physical and mental health as well as integrating with the civil society must be properly managed.
"Therefore, I urge you to be proactive in your conduct inorder to overcome these challenges because your loyalty to the Armed Forces of Nigeria and the Federal Republic is non negotiable," he stated.
He also warned them against embarking  a new lifestyle that was above their means or engage in non lucrative ventures, neither should they abstain from physical exercises.
"The society will expect high moral standards and discipline from you and you will have to prove that you passed through a highly disciplined system. 
"I am sure that your training exposed you to several vocational opportunities and general management skills to alleviate above mentioned pitfalls inorder to have a stress-free and meaningful life in retirement," he stated.
He urged the AVM Idi Lubo, NAFRC Commandant, to continue the laudable initiatives for high quality human resource development so that the high standard for which the centre is known for is sustained.
In his welcome address, AVM Lubo disclosed that over 50,000 personnel of the armed forces had passed out of  NAFRC since its inception. 
"The Centre has also successfully trained members of paramilitary agencies as well as members from federal ministries, departments and agencies. 
He stated that the training the centre provides equips the beneficiaries with skills for self sustenance and meaningful income thereby enabling them to contribute meaningfully to their various societies thus reducing crime, criminality as well as other vices from the society.
AVM Lubo congratulated the graduands for their laudable achievements, saying that the successful completion of these courses is proof of their determination, commitment and discipline in the number of years of active military service to the nation.

Lubo commended President Muhammed Buhari for his continuos support to the development of the armed forces and also extended his appreciation to the families of the graduands for their love and support over the past years. 
The 329 personnel graduated from the training programme include  258 from the Nigerian Army, 59 from the Nigerian Navy and 12 from the Nigerian Air Force.
The CNS joined by other officers from the Nigerian Customs Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, traditional rulers and other dignitaries inspected an exhibition where products from all the workshops in NAFRC were  displayed.
