Covid-19: 'The fly that perched on the scrotum'

How do we manage our lifestyle while living with this menace?

My grandfather (of blessed memory) once explained what caution and patience meant by using the 'irritating fly that perched on the scrotum of a dog' as illustration.  The dog must cautiously send the fly away from the delicate zone or get itself injured in an attempt to kill the fly.

Covid-19 has become a fly that perched on the scrotum and the best way to coo it off is by gentle removal.

While we must be empathic and sympathetic with those who are battling or have passed on, how do we stay alive?

All protocols must be followed judiciously and testimonials of survivors is our only beacon of hope.

I am so scared silly that the only thing on my mind is how to make money while surviving this pestilence.

Tempers are flaring and emotions run riot.  Fear being the fuel.  If anyone sneezes or coughs around you, the thought of covering yourself with a blanket crosses your mind just to avoid the deadly particles touching you.  Is this fear also healthy? Yes and no.

Yes because it will stir you to follow necessary protocols and steer clear from being infected.  No because if the fear grips you too much, your immunity also drops.  It has been scientifically proven that fear weakens our immunity.

My personal standpoint.  Do I keep living in unhealthy fear? No. How do I survive this pestilence? Well up my immunity by all means.  Gather information from various sources of those who survived the pestilence.  Once I feel feverish, I stay indoors and get treated rather than make myself vulnerable to the pandemic.

Covid-19 is here with us and the best approach is to follow all health protocols and learn from survivors.

Learning from those who survived and understanding their techniques of survival should be our lesson going forward.

While commending the efforts of the Lagos State government and the incident commander, His Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for doing the best possible (within their provision).  Establishing the oxygen plant was a great stride.  This makes it easy to manage the issues as it concerns infected patients. More can be done with enlightenment campaigns in various languages to sensitize the public.

A friend of mine in Atlanta contracted covid-19 and his approach at combating it during his isolation period was dramatic.  His wife refused to separate from him.  She would sleep with him and watch over him. 😳🙆🏾‍♂.

His method; using steam inhalation (With Aboniki balm) every 2 hours and revving up his immunity by eating fruits rich in zinc (Ginger, Garlic etc).

I asked if his wife got infected and he said no.

He said it was a most hellish 14 days of his life.  He struggled with every breath.  Now he is atop his game.

Covid-19 is our new normal and survival tactics our new lesson.  We must learn how to meander in the midst of this pandemic so as to keep surviving for existence as long as we can.

We shall overcome eventually.
